Saint Patrick's Day 2014

I love the parade, I really do, but there is something about the big crowds, traffic and general messiness of it all that makes me prefer to look at it in other people's pictures afterwards! So instead, Kenny and I used the day to reconnect with nature and our Celtic roots. We took a spin out to the Burren, listening to Loreena McKennitt on the way. It was cold and misty yet wonderful. Of course the sat nav took us on godforsaken roads but no matter! The views made up for it in the end.

Spring is definitely taking its sweet time this year and there's so much flooding in the country still and a lot of damage to repair. But there's a good few lambs around already, they are very sweet and shy and awkward on their feet! On the way back stopped off in Kinvara, which is such a scenic spot! Back at the house we had a nice fry for dinner (I love me some mushy peas). We finished off the evening with some red wine and watched The Mists of Avalon.

Books, French Café and lots of soul with Érin Grant

To say that I enjoyed doing this shoot would be an understatement.

Érin is patient, intuitive and has a wonderful vision that complemented mine on the day.

I first met Érin at one of Galway's vintage and thrift markets. Her boho chic style sparked up ideas in my head for a shoot at inspiring locations around which we could build a story. The two locations featured are Charlie Byrne's Bookshop (a true treasure trove) and Java's Café. We played with ideas of love for literature, french charm and seduction and a bit of teenage angst (because The Catcher in the Rye is one of Érin's favourite books).

Érin writes for a number of online publications and you can catch all her stories on her blog My Paper Mache Mind and on her facebook page.

I am delighted and proud with the way these images turned out. I interspersed them with a few of my favourite quotes about books. Scroll to your hearts delight and please enjoy.
